Is there anything in particular that drives you to success?
The people around me. The people I love like my friends and family. They are the ones that drive to success. What’s it like to become famous all of a sudden?
It’s exciting. This saga became the best platform to launch my career, and it was a great oportunity. I’m grateful because I have fun making movies and working with talented people. What is the worst thing about fame?
There’s tons of good things and bad things. Obviously, the lack of privacy is bad. It’s not normal to go out and have dozens of cars with photographers waiting outside while you get your coffee. But like I said, there’s many good things too and I’m willing to put up with the inconviniences. What do you do to keep your feet on the ground?
The answer is in the family members and friends that I’ve known for a while. This is our job, we live in the business world, but then we go back to normal. We can be famous, but in the end, our lives are as normal as anyone else’s. We stay at home and we don’t live the exciting lives people think. Keeping a balance in our lives is important, and I can’t lose that.

It often takes aspiring actors years before they get a starring role in a movie after making the big move to Los Angeles. But Jenn Proske, who graduated from Boston University last year, moved to Hollywood and found her dream role in no time. She says landing the lead as Becca Crane in “Vampires Suck” is like “winning the lottery as an actor.”
“Vampires Suck” is a spoof on the ridiculously popular “Twilight” saga written by Stephanie Meyer. But Jenn, who was a fan of the books and the movies before being cast, isn’t trying to make enemies in Hollywood by making fun of the pop culture phenomenon that is vampires – she thinks it’s a form of flattery.
Here’s what the young actress has to say about her film that hits theaters on August 18:
How did you prepare for the role?
I had to watch the original “Twilight” just to get the overall story and to understand everyone and all the characters so I’ve watched “Twilight” and “New Moon” hundreds of times. I’m a huge fan of the movies so I had a great time watching them over and over again.
Were you a Twihard before being cast?
I had seen both the movies before I got cast. I was a fan of the books and the movies. I think “Twilight” is great. It’s such an amazing thing that everyone has created. Vampires are something exciting and sexy and fun to a lot of people, [including me.]
Your character, Becca Crane, is eerily similar to Kristen Stewart’s, Bella Swan. Did you intend to do that?
I didn’t want it to be an imitation of Kristen [Stewart]. I worked with the directors to find a balance [between] my own self as an actor and Kristen’s mannerisms and vocal patterns so that it was recognizable.

Matt Lanter, star of new Twilight Saga parody Vampires Suck, will soon get a taste of just what the Twilight fandom is really like. In a recent interview, the 27-year-old 90210 actor talked about fan backlash, Robert Pattinson, and Edward Cullen impersonations.
When asked about working on the spoof, and whether he expects any fan backlash, Lanter said of Twilight, “Let’s be honest, they had it coming, right.” He also says he worries “a little bit” about 13-year-old girls turning up at his house, asking them to “please not hurt me.”
On the subject of RPattz, Lanter had only good things to say, admitting he hasn’t yet met him but that “He seems like a great guy, though. He really does. Honestly, I’m a fan. He does a great job in the Twilight series.”
He also went on to talk about his Edward Cullen impersonations, saying:
I had the eyes and I had the hair. My hair was longer too, I had a very good, disheveled Rob Pattinson look going on. It was great, we pretty much closely follow the Twilight film. So a lot of the scenes in Twilight we’re actually doing. What’s also kind of cool is that we also follow our own storyline. It was fun.
So, Twilighters, how do you think Matt Lanter compares to Robert Pattinson? Could he ever rival the British global superstar? Let us now whose hair you think is better in the comments.

Globally recognized as Victoria from the best-selling Twilight phenomenon, actress Rachelle Lefevre is helping animals, both wild and domestic, in the United States and Canada. As the face of Puppies Aren’t Products, a campaign spearheaded by Best Friends Animal Society focused on battling puppy mills and irresponsible breeding, the Canadian-born beauty has her sights set on bringing an end to the plight of homeless pets.
How did you first become involved with animal rescue?
My mother is a psychologist, and when I was 15 years old she called me from her office and said one of her patients had shown up with a dog. [The woman] lived in an apartment where the people next door were cocaine users. They would leave their door open, and sometimes the dog would get into the cocaine and end up getting out of the apartment and wander around in a stupor. One day she found the dog in the middle of the street looking kind of dazed. She couldn’t stand it any more so she took the dog. She was on her way to see my mother and told my mom the story. My mom called me from her office, and asked, “Do you want this dog?” And we took her in.I became active in rescue and adoption when I met my manager. She got me my first membership to Best Friends as a Christmas gift and made a donation in my name. The donation came with a magazine subscription, and I started reading it. It’s thanks to her that I’ve become interested in participating on a larger scale.
Can you explain the Puppies Aren’t Products Campaign? Why did you decide to become involved, and what is your role?
When I started reading about what Best Friends was doing at their sanctuary in Kanab, I was amazed by their larger goal: that there shouldn’t be any homeless pets. The first step [of the Puppies Aren’t Products campaign] is to have a no-kill shelter to eliminate the existence of a shelter where they euthanize animals. The second step is shutting down puppy mills to stop the cruel over-breeding that brings new animals into the world when there are plenty who need homes. The third step is to encourage people to rescue or adopt when they look for a pet. If we were able to implement these three steps, we would live in a world where there were no homeless pets. It’s so simple of a concept.
Best Friends isn’t just responsible for the sanctuary. They have different organizational branches in different cities, and they are involved with every aspect of this goal. My part is raising awareness about what it means to adopt, what it can offer you, the lives that you can save, and also educating people about debunking the myth of adopting.
What myth is that?
There are a lot of them. There is a myth that there are dogs [in shelters] who are aggressive or who have some sort of a traumatic past that you’re going to rehabilitate in some capacity. There are also dogs who are not spayed or neutered. I’m also working on debunking the myth that the only dogs you can get in shelters are all sick. People should know that chances are your dog’s going to have a little something. If you put them all in a shelter together, dogs get things from each other. The truth is, you go to the vet for your first check-up anyway when you get a dog, and the vet gives you a little bit of penicillin. You give your dog the penicillin for a week or two, and they’re fine. When we rescued my dog, Honey, they pointed out a couple of things on her skin and on her lips that they weren’t sure about, and they said, “We think this is this, but we don’t know exactly, and you’ll have to take her to the vet and get her checked out.” We didn’t know how sick she was going to be, but we had some idea that we were volunteering for anything. We had the luxury of knowing that we could afford treatment if she got sick. Not everybody can. Medical bills for dogs are expensive, and you want to ensure you’ve got a healthy dog. If you have the luxury of being able to afford to care for a dog who needs extra care, then go for it. It is unbelievably rewarding.

INSPIRE: You’ve been in numerous television series (including Kyle XY) already. How was it different stepping into a movie (Eclipse), especially one so popular worldwide?
KIRSTEN: It was definitely intimidating stepping onto a set with an established cast, all of whom are tremendously talented. On our show (Kyle XY) we had such a dynamic, so I knew what I was in for as the new kid. That being said, everyone was so welcoming and it was an absolute pleasure working on Eclipse.
I: Did you have to contemplate on the idea of being in the third installment of the series? Have you read the books?
K: To be completely honest, I wasn’t used to the idea of such a small character, but when I saw that it was for Eclipse, I realized it was such a tremendous opportunity and just being involved is enough. It has really opened doors for me and I am so grateful for the experience.
